@priit: You copied almost all 30 vintage Miss Chiquita labels (1972–1987) into the current catalogue entry with the Miss Chiquita design that has been used since 2011. Unfortunately, this is not a good approach, because it mixes clearly separated periods of use. The catalogue entries become unnecessarily large and the labels are harder to find. In addition, the same label is shown multiple times, which is confusing from a collecting perspective.
As a rule, we show each label only once in the catalogue. We only use two catalogue entries if, for example, we want to document a new designed main label additionally in its use within a set. Or if the banana brand and the importer are printed with equal prominence and no clear assignment to one of the two search criteria is possible
I have therefore reverted the changes.
I heard of this label, but have never seen it before. Fantastic!
It seems to be more a light yellow, than a faded gold.
Great Claus, thank you very much to help to get the catalog complete! What you have done is simply perfect! So thank you again and I hope to see many, many new labels you have found.
Allthough the sides are dirty they are all white and there is no golden frame
The story is that a local Texas wholesaler put these labels on bananas. Chiquita did not appreciate it, and threatened legal action. It's a rare label, but really was used on bananas. My source is a retired banana exec.
